I was SO tired, and felt very sick this morning. I have mental and physical stress out the nose right now, and it is just wearing me down. My intention was to give the children their breakfast and sit down in my recliner for a few minutes. Well, I fed the kids, ran to the back room for something, and then came out to sit down and watch them eat. At the table were 4 kids, two of which had books open "reading" them. What books did they have? Their Veggie Tales Bible and the devotion book that we use in the mornings. I was going to skip devotions until I saw that.
How could I skip it now? Those very same kids that drive me bonkers were waiting, pretending to do what I should have been doing with them.
So, I sat down at the table to do devotions, and the verse for today really struck my heart. Matt 10:31 "So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows." Oh, how I needed that. I am carrying stress and worries around like a hiking pack on my back.
I was humbled this morning. The thirst my children have for their morning devotions really sank into my heart. I was to wrapped up in my own worries to remember to take them to the Lord, because he does care for me more than any sparrow!
