Just for fun, I thought I would repost something from my personal blog last year's "day after" Mother's Day.
This is your Mother's Day
This is your day after Mother's Day
Any questions?
I remember how on Mother's Day, we would do everything to treat mom like a queen. It was her day. We would make a big lunch and do gifts, etc. Mom didn't have to do anything.
My kids seem to have a different perspective. Don't get me wrong. They treat me like a queen. They pick flowers all day long for me. They make me lots of cards and pictures and give me tons of hugs and kisses. They normally make breakfast for me in bed.
But the mindset of their Mother's Day seems to come from the direction, that it is my day to just spend being a mom....not that I should be able to do whatever I want.
In years past, when I was nothing but a mom all day every day, I didn't appreciate this mindset too much. In fact, I remember a couple of occasions of throwing a bit of a fit for wanting to be able to do what I wanted to do! I wanted a day for ME!
I don't blame anyone for having this attitude. I think it is a little earned - at least one day a year. :) However, since I've been working full time, family time has become more and more precious. I treasure days that I have nothing to do, but be a mom. They are priceless to me!
I hope you got the option of your choosing for Mother's Day! Here are a few pictures of ours. :)
