Psalm 4:8

"I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety." Psalm 4:8

Today, we can be assured that not only can we sleep, but we can do so in peace! Peace here alludes to being whole and intact. :) "Make dwell" means "cause to sit" or "to be settled." Safety can also mean security.

Let's think about this. No matter what is going on in our lives, the child of God is safe and secure. Our circumstances may not be safe and secure. Sometimes even our bodies may not be safe and secure. But our souls...our souls are safe and secure in Jesus. Because of that, no matter what is going on, we can lie down and sleep, completely intact and whole. We can rest in Him because He settles us. He causes us to rest.

So....I'm off to get some sleep.
