"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
I have talked to so many moms this year whose first child is off to school...or whose kids are off to school for the first time after homeschooling....or they are embarking on homeschooling...or going back to work. Whatever the circumstances, it involves big changes in their house. Some changes are things that they said they would never, ever do. I, myself, am sending my 7th grader to a school that I (at one time) said none of my kids would EVER go to.
Terrified may be a strong word to describe the feeling of most, maybe not for everyone. Fearful might be a better term. The Hebrew hear for discouraged, actually implies being dismayed or frightened. The point being, many of us are facing a fearful situation in some regard right now....and those fearful things are magnified 100x when it involves our kids.
We are *commanded* to be strong and courageous...not suggested, not encouraged - but COMMANDED. Don't you love the reason why, though? The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go! *Wherever*! Guess what?! He will be with our kids wherever you go too?
How will you rally your strength this week? How will you model strength to your kids and encourage them to be courageous?
