My Strength Was Sapped

4 For day and night
your hand was heavy upon me;
my strength was sapped
as in the heat of summer.

What is your typical reaction when you are dealing with sin? Do you try to hide it? Do something to forget about it? Confess it?

My heart has been really heavy recently over sin in my heart. I knew my heart was in the wrong place, but honestly just couldn't shake it. Finally, I just poured it out to the Lord. "God you know that I'm not even really sorry over this. But I want to be sorry. I don't want to be consumed like this over something that is not from you. But I'm just not strong enough to overcome."

Wow! That is a good place to be. The answer from the Lord? "OK then, thanks for inviting me to show up. Let's get to work."
