You Are the Prize!

"I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe." Ephesians 1:18-19a

I can't tell you how much I need this verse this week. Do you ever go through a week where you have to read God's promises over and over again in an attempt to convince yourself that they're true? Honestly, I've had a week like that.

I'm praying for you (and for myself) that our eyes will be opened to what God has called us to. My husband and I have been reminded this week that the hope of our calling isn't about our job or even some great service that we can accomplish for the Lord while on this earth. It is so easy to get wrapped up in the hope of our own hopes, isn't it?

What is the hope of our calling? We are the inheritance of Jesus. We are His prize. That is our calling - our hope. To be the prize that God the Son will receive in the end.

How does that hit you? How does that bolster your faith in the power you possess in Him?

I'm in awe.
