Power-Packed Blueberry Icee

Hello, moms! Kendra is doing a phenomenal job sharing her journey with us of not being an angry mom. Are you enjoying it as much as I am?

Something Kendra may or may not get to (hope I don't steal her thunder) is some of the physical aspects that can contribute to our attitude. Ever heard of H.A.L.T.S (Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired, Scared)?Sometimes when we're really off, we just need to ask ourselves, "Am I hungry? Amy I tired?", etc...

As I've mentioned, I'm on a new diet. The older I get, the more I realize how precious my health is. I don't know about you, but I'm very guilty of forgetting to eat right. I realized when I'm about to pass out that I skipped a meal because I was busy taking care of everyone else. Anyone else? So I'm learning to keep some really good things stocked in the fridge and freezer that I can easily grab as a snack. In the past, the easy things to grab were cookies or brownies or a bowl of ice cream or cereal. All carbs. All sugars. All setting me up for blood sugar failure and not helping with any anger issues.

We give our kids snacks all day, but do we have snacks ready for us? Things that will really give us some good calories, nutrients, and an energy boost? You're worth feeding yourself right, ya know.

So, as I learn to do this myself, I'm going to share with you. Here is a recipe I came up with today that was super yummy and super full of good stuff!

Put in a blender (or bullet if you're lucky)

4 oz. P♥M (100% Pomegranate juice)

1 to 1-1/2 c. frozen blueberries

handful of fresh spinach leaves

water as needed to keep the blender whirring. :D

Put it all in the blender and process until it is icee consistency.

Super Delicious! I'm serious. You don't taste the spinach. Pomegranate juice is one of the best natural ways to help your cholesterol. Blueberries are a super antioxidant. Spinach is super high in Vitamin K, A, C, iron, magnese, folate, and a lot of other stuff.

You'll be ready to go with the nutrients moms need the most without any carbs or refined sugars!
