Lamentations 3:21-26

"Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, 'The Lord is my portion; ...therefore I will wait for him.' The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord." Lamentations 3:21-26

Sometimes our circumstances bring us no hope at all. When we look at what is surrounding us, we may not automatically see "new mercies" and "unfailing compassion." That is why, tonight, my favorite part of this passage is the very beginning..."Yes this I call to mind and therefore I have hope." The Hebrew here for to call to mind means to bring ... Read Moreback, restore, return, recover the heart, mind, courage, conscience, understanding.

Essentially, we are to turn bring back our hearts. Restore our courage, return our minds (you get the picture) back to the truth that His mercy is new every day. His compassion never fails. We can have endless hope in his goodness. We can wait for Him, knowing He is enough WHEN we bring ourselves back to the truth and don't let the emotions of our circumstances swallow us up.
