Psalm 62:5-6

"Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken." Psalm 62:5-6

The word "rest" here means to stand still, be quiet, and wait silently.

How easy is that for women? Now, if I hadn't already posted the verse, so that you were all tempted to have the "right" answer, I would tell you to make a dream list of ways you'd like to rest. Let me guess what would be on it: a babysitter, a massage, sleeping in, your favorite no-no from the pantry? All of those things are fine and good (well, maybe not the no-no from the pantry); but how often do we use those things to dodge the fact that our rest is to be in God alone?

What is tormenting your heart and soul today? I have a list of my own.

Let's try an experiment together, shall we? How 'bout we all try to stand still, be quiet, and wait silently before the Lord with our troubles - just for today. I know we should do it all of the time, but let's take it one day at a time.

When you get a chance, come back and post here about the difference it has made in your day/your attitude - and if you have any answered prayer, share that too!
